Charles Dickens
A Christmas Carol
A Play To Raise The Spirts
Adapted by DAVID HOLMAN
Directed by Victor Emeljanow
Featuring the Hunter Region Youth Choir
On the 200th anniversary of Charles Dickens birthday HRDS presents the world’s most loved tale of the stingy, sour and tight-fisted miser Ebenezer Scrooge.
Scrooge’s misery, the deadening chill as he meets the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future, the merriment in Bob Cratchit’s home and Scrooge’s final, joyful celebration of Christmas are all brilliantly brought to life in this wonderful adaption by much celebrated Australian playwright David Holman.
Directed by Victor Emeljanow and staring a talented line-up from within the HRDS ensemble this is sure to be a delightful rediscovery of an old classic brought to life with all the powerful melancholic drama and uplifting humor that has made this such an endearing tale for all the family.
